Old Happiness

A 13 track lo-fi album (49m 23s) — released January 5th 2010 on Son Canciones

A Singer of Songs. A Belgian abroad, in asparsely lit home studio somewhere in Barcelona. One man with some friends humming along. Tiny tunes recorded in the moment when they are written. In single takes most of the time. Like notes in a diary. Or foot prints on a muddy path.

'Old Happiness' is the second album by a Singer of Songs.Thirteen songs capturing the beauty in the heart of the night, the smell of cigarettes, cold coffee and old guitars.

“Lo-fi lullaby folk that falls on the ears as gently as snowflakes.” - Metro UK

“Beautiful music with a huge beating heart. (...) The singer of these songs easily recalls the melancholy style of late singers St Thomas or Vic Chesnutt.” - Odd Box

“A deep whisper of Barzin and Damien Jurado, a dusty atmosphere which seems to refer to a Conor Oberst stripped of emphasis.” - Onda Rock

“Songs (…) drift by you and almost melt into the walls around you, so don’t let them simply float away, you have to listen.” - Slowcoustic

“Like a warm blanket you want to put over you after a bad day. It’s haunting and sweet but there is a tinge of despair laced within it. - LAisthenewNY.com

“The kind of singer-songwriter you love unconditionally.” - happy Days are here again
